The council Porto do Son, parish of Baroña, A Coruña, welcomes one of the best preserved castros in Galicia.

It is by the sea, on top of a small peninsula and, during the I century before Christ, the people who habited it dwelled in around 20 circular housings inside defensive walls. There was as well a moat. Among both elements the castro's place was structured: a defensive cube was on the right of the main entrance where, at the same time, the wall which locked probably up the whole castro, became narrower.

A path leads to a high ground where it is possible to find more constructions.

It is “boasted” that the castro must have been self-sufficent: it stocked up both water and food, basically fish and sea-food which came directly from the surrounding area. At the same time, remains of elaborated pieces such as metal tools, stones and fabrics have been founded.

It was excavated for the first time in year 1933 and its architectura consolidation ended in 1984
